equine performance and well-being across all breeds, disciplines, and
levels of equestrian sport.
Jackie trained extensively under four-time Olympic U.S. Eventing Team physiotherapist, Jo-Ann Wilson, and now serves as her affiliate on the west coast. She is one of two practitioners who have become Jo-Ann’s affiliate within Wilson Meagher Sports Therapy. Jackie also assists Jo-Ann in teaching the six-day intensive program, Practitioner of the Technical Skills of the Wilson Meagher Method. In this role, Jackie helps others develop their skills while continuing to deepen her own under Jo-Ann’s mentorship. Jackie brings over 20 years of experience in veterinary emergency and critical care nursing, massage and Chinese energy medicine. She is a nationally certified and licensed Registered Veterinary Technician(RVT), holds a B.Sc. in pre-veterinary medicine from the University of Connecticut, and is completing a Master’s degree in Equine Science at the University of Edinburgh’s School of Veterinary Studies. Jackie undertook a traditional apprenticeship in Chinese Energy Medicine with Grand Master Hong Liu. Over 16 years of study and practice with Master Hong, she treated both people and animals, and became his only apprentice specifically trained to work with horses. She carries forward an authentic lineage of Medical Qi Gong, uniquely adapted to equine care. Jackie is a longtime student of master horseman Ray Berta, a protégé of the legendary Tom Dorrance. Ray’s quiet wisdom and deep respect for the horse’s spirit continue to influence the way Jackie listens to and works with each horse.
